We offer a variety of courses and training ranging from introductory classes and seminars to comprehensive multi day courses and personalized training sessions. Whether you're interested in spearfishing, recreational freediving, underwater photography, or just increasing your confidence and comfort in the water, we will teach you the knowledge and skills you need to safely dive deeper and hold your breath longer.
We offer smaller class sizes and keep a low student to instructor ratio (no more than 4) ensuring each student a personalized learning experience with direct instruction tailored to their individual needs.
We're with you every step of the way
Safety is our priority, VersaSpear instructors accompany every student on EVERY DIVE to ensure safety as well as close supervision of technique, to provide assistance if needed, and give concise and immediate feedback.
Road Map to Frenzel
The number one reason that students fail to complete a freediving course is trouble with equalization. At VersaSpear we set you up for success, every Freediver level course we teach comes with the “Road Map to Frenzel” online course included! (A $49 Value!) This course was developed by Ted Harty of Immersion Freediving for the very purpose of helping students learn how to frenzel and start practicing, before taking a course so they don't get stuck at 15-30ft with equalization issues.

VersaSpear is a Performance Freediving International (PFI) accredited facility. Cancelation Policy
A deposit is required for all courses. Deposits become non-refundable once e-learning materials are provided, or within one month of the scheduled course dates. If you are unable to attend a course you may reschedule for any open spot in a course within one year of your original course date using your original deposit. However, pool fees or other additional costs may apply.

We offer a wide range of freediving and spearfishing gear, wetsuits, fins, masks, snorkels, weight belts, floats and floatlines, and spearguns.
Yes, we require a valid ID and a credit card for the rental deposit. Basic contact information will also be collected for safety and equipment tracking purposes.
Our staff will assist you in choosing the correct size based on your measurements and specific needs.
We do not currently have online booking. You can call or email us to find out which course is right for you and book your spot.
Basic Freediving equipment is required for your course. This includes a mask, snorkel, fins, weight belt and wetsuit. If you don't already have your own set of gear we have everything you will need available to purchase or rent.
Our instructors are certified by Performance Freediving International (PFI) at the Level of Freediver Instructor, and Assistant Freediver Instructor and have a combined total of over 25 years of experience freediving and spearfishing. Ryan and Shelby have competed at the highest levels in spearfishing as part of Team USA since 2017 having won multiple National titles and have broken 5 state records and 12 world records in spearfishing.
Safety is our top priority. All our courses are conducted using professional level equipment and adhere to strict safety standards put in place by PFI.
Our instructors are all CPR, AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administrator certified, and accompany each student on every dive they make.
Every Student also has a safety buddy supervising each breath hold and waiting at the surface after each dive to coach them through proper surface protocols and provide assistance if needed.
